SOCIAL AUDIT

A social compliance Audit is an objective assessment of the working conditions at a production site providing a clear picture of the factory’s compliance with all applicable legal requirements, international standards (SA8000, ICTI…) and client-specific code of conduct obligations. With SA8000 certified Auditors, API can conduct social audits according to the following methodology:

Tour of the factory site

API auditors visit the production site, dormitories, canteen and warehousing facilities paying particular attention to health and safety violations. Understanding the operational procedures on the ground is a key point during this stage.

Document review

API Auditors examine the facility’s operating licenses, payroll and attendance records.

Private workers interviews

To confirm information gathered so far, a sample of workers is selected by API Auditors for confidential interviews held in the absence of factory management.

Debriefing on Audit Results & Corrective Action Planning

After completion of the audit, all problems identified are addressed with a Corrective Action Plan. API offers solutions to your supplier and binds it to a schedule ensuring you an effective commitment that it will solve all problems within a workable stretch of time.

Follow-up audits

API Auditors then revisit you supplier to verify that remediation is on schedule and that the factory implementing the necessary changes to bring itself into compliance smoothly, thoroughly and quickly as possible.
