What is the Reach Directive and what impact on my supply chain?

  • The new Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH). Entered into force on 1st June 2007, it is the new legislative framework n chemicals of the European Union (EU)

  • The main aims of REACH are the improvement of protection of human health and environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, the promotion of alternative test methods, the free circulation of substances on the internal market and enhancing competitiveness and innovation

  • REACH makes industry responsible for assessing and managing the risks posed by chemicals and providing appropriate safety information to their users

  • To raise supplier awareness and inform him about his obligations both towards the ECHA and its Customer

  • To ensure the supplier understand what information related to the products is required by the Customer
